Emer O`Callaghan is a Partner in our Corporate & Commercial Department.
Emer has extensive experience in acting for clients, providing all legal services and advice for their personal and commercial transactions and in particular in complex transactions, including property transactions and litigation disputes.
An expert in the area of Data Protection, Employment Law & Occupational Injury, she represents nationwide and international clients in personal injury matters and industrial relations disputes. Emer regularly appears before all Courts including the Labour Court and Workplace Relations Commission and also acts as an Independent Workplace Investigator and Appeals Adjudicator.
Emer is a CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) Accredited Mediator with a special interest in resolving workplace conflict specialising, in the area of whistleblowing, stress, bullying and harassment at work.
Emer is a current committee member of the Employment and Equality Committee of the Law Society of Ireland and Southern Law Association as well as a member of the Institute of Occupational Health & Safety Practitioners (IOSH) and served as a Committee Member for IOSH Ireland South District. She is a regular conference speaker for groups such as CIPD, Skillsnet, The Health & Safety Review, Junior Chamber of Commerce, IOSH, The Chartered Accountants Cork Society and LGMA.
Emer provides in-house training in a wide range of Employment Law, Data Protection & Privacy and Health & Safety related areas to the public and private sector. She is also a Lecturer and Examiner for the Law Society of Ireland and a Co-Author of the Oxford University Press Employment Law Manual (3rd & 4th editions).
Emer O`Callaghan holds a BCL Law Degree from University College Cork and a Masters in Health & Safety Law and Environmental Law. She was admitted to the Roll of solicitors in 2004.
In her free time, Emer has travelled overseas with Habitat for Humanity and served as the Group Leader for Cork City Special Olympics Athlete Leadership Programme.
